How to put together your 5-Minute Assembly bike?Updated 3 months ago

Just received your 5-Minute Assembly e-bike from Upway? Come listen to Collin, one of our Senior Mechanics, demonstrate how to put your bike together!

Step 1 : Adjusting the handlebar

To begin assembling your 5-Minute Assembly bike, we'll start with the handlebars.

  • Begin by loosening the bolts or screws on the stem, located at the front of the bike where the handlebar inserts. This will allow you to rotate the handlebar to your desired position.

  • Ensure that the handlebar is centered and aligned with the front wheel.
  • Once the handlebar is in the desired position, tighten the bolts or screws securely using the allen key provided by Upway. Make sure the handlebar is firmly fixed in place to prevent any movement during riding.
  • After adjusting and securing the handlebar, double-check that it is straight and aligned with the front wheel.

Once you are done with the handlebar, we can move onto the next step of assembly!

Step 2 : Attaching the pedals

After adjusting the handlebar, the next step is to attach the pedals.

  • Identify which pedal is left and which pedal is right (can be determined from the wrapping paper)
  • Begin hand screwing each pedal into the corresponding crank arm. Please note that the right pedal screws in clockwise, while the left pedal screws in counterclockwise. Each pedal should be turning towards the front of the bike.
  • Use a pedal wrench or an adjustable wrench to tighten the pedals snugly, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage.  Once confirmed, your bike is now fully assembled and ready for use.

Once these two steps are completed, double-check all connections and adjustments to ensure everything is properly assembled and secure. Your 99% e-bike is now ready for a test ride and further adjustments as needed. If you notice something wrong or need help for any steps, please feel free to reach out to our support team.
